Fully certified ACSM and BCRPA personal trainers will get you started on the path to good health by helping you set - and realize - concrete and healthy goals in a supportive, professional environment. You choose your type of membership, and we will offer the options.
Group

Personal training is the foundation of Living Strong. If you need specific results, help with long-term motivation, or support for safe exercising, the services of a personal trainer will increase the value of your membership. We provide many types of packages. Just ask!

We familiarize you with unique, state-of-the-art equipment that provides an unprecedented advantage for attaining your fitness goals. Designed to develop strength through a full range of motion and to target specific muscle groups in our often-asymmetrical bodies, this advanced equipment is not found anywhere else in B.C.

At the heart of Living Strong is owner and personal trainer, Sheena Bull. An incomparable resource for your well-being and fitness, she knows what it means to struggle to reach those fitness goals. At the age of 14, she failed a fitness test for a mile run. Shocked into motivation, she trained for a solid month, shaving 3 minutes off her time. She's been running ever since.

Fitness promotes a healthier community.” Sheena Bull is a passionate proponent of healthy, strong living through fitness. Since the gym's original beginnings as a small, personal training studio, She has evolved her business into a complete fitness facility geared towards a wide range of clients. Sheena believes in fitness as a way of life, and so creates programs that will help people age well, exercise pain and injury free, and attain fitness goals ranging from building healthy foundations to body building. In the near future, watch for seminar courses that she will be offering to the community. At Living Strong, Sheena is dedicated to helping people do just that: live strong. With her expertise and personality, she will make you believe you can do it! In fact, she’ll keep you in conversation long enough that you won’t even realize you’ve done a whole, productive hour of exercise!

Mike

Mike is the quiet zenmaster in the office, keeping everything running smoothly. After several years of running various businesses, the most recent being a golf course, Mike joined forces with Sheena to help the studio continue to grow into a thriving membership gym. He became a Living Strong convert after Sheena had devised a fitness program that not only made him stronger, but also rid him of a nagging knee injury. When not in the gym, Mike divides his time between Salt Spring and Victoria and plays golf.

I love working with people, helping them to be healthier, happier, and stronger.” Valri was inspired to be a personal trainer after achieving her own fitness goals under the guidance of her own fitness coach. Now, she uses her own positive personality to inspire others to embrace a healthy lifestyle. Besides personal training, Valri leads a discussion group for people wanting to lose weight, which meets twice a month and covers a variety of topics, from cooking healthy food to overcoming fitness challenges. Her future goals include learning muscle activation to help people with past and present injuries and gaining specialized training for older adults. Valri is usually spotted laughing and gently telling her clients what to do. Outside of the gym, she plays soccer and fundraises for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Karen Curtin

There’s nothing more empowering than reaching goals with a fit, healthy body and mind.” After many years of school and deskwork, Karen decided one day that she had enough with sitting all day long. She wanted to change her body to be as fit as possible...so, she became a triathlete at 36 years old. Wanting to combine her scholarly tendencies with fitness evolved into the inspiration that drove her to obtain her personal trainer certification. In the near future, she plans to expand her fitness education to triathlon coaching for beginners. “Persistence is the key to success. At first, doubts and excuses creep in, making it easy to stop trying, but then there’s a shift that happens and exercise becomes a part of your life, like eating and sleeping.” Outside of the gym and training schedule, Karen spends time with her tireless dogs and fundraises for the MS Society.

The Living Strong Fitness Facility was designed for the individual who is seeking to achieve long-term fitness results, not just for the sake of improved self-image, but for the sake of improved health and well-being; for the long haul and for life!
